Daniel Carter

Dan has been studying guitar for over fifteen years and teaching professionally for six of those years. He teaches in both educational establishments and privately under the Andy Wraight Teaching Studios name. He has taught music at BTEC and Degree level at colleges and runs clinics outside of colleges to help pupils catch up on work and master the skills learnt in class (and also help creating portfolios for University applications).

Aside from electric guitar Dan also specialises in classical and bass guitar. He has obtained a Honours Degree in Commercial Music and Sound Engineering - this has led to hundreds of professional recording sessions and a brief stint working alongside fellow producers on the Jools Holland show.

He is closely involved with several professional producers and is constantly composing music for commercial use. Alongside his teaching, he has undertaken many tours inside and outside of the UK in his own musical groups.

Although predominantly a rock orientated player he also teaches Jazz, Fusion, Classical, Acoustic and many more genres.

Jay Roberts

With over thirteen years of drumming experience, Jay is a committed musician who passed his Grade 8 in drums (Rockschool) at the age of fifteen. In addition to this, Jay was ranked in the top 40 young drummers in the UK at the age of 16 by the Mike Dolbear company (Young Drummer of the Year).

Studying drums since the  age of four, Jay was one of the earliest students of Andy Wraight Teaching Studios and is  currently working on a music performance diploma (DipRSL), performing tracks made famous by such notable artists as Dave Weckl, Rush and Motorhead.

Jay is a well rounded musician, with influences from many styles including (but not limited to) Rock, Funk, Jazz, Metal and Drum&Bass. His inspiration is drawn from a similarly wide range of artists, from Buddy Rich, to more contemporary players like John Mayer, Chris Coleman and Dave Grohl.

Owen is a talented musician and teacher and is proving to be very popular with our new pupils!

His passion for listening and - most of all - playing music came about at an early age, as he gained accomplished skills in classical piano before finding his ultimate outlet for musical ability and creativity on the drum kit.

With a wide range of musical tastes, Owen is proficient in a variety of styles including rock, funk, jazz, blues, and Latin music. His influences shape his unique sound; a blend of John Bonhams’ feel and groove with the polyrhythmic technical precision of Stewart Copeland.

Owen studied at the renowned popular music institute, the Academy of Contemporary Music, under Pete Riley (Guthrie Govan) and Mike Sturgis (Wishbone ash, Asia). It was here he developed and honed his playing style as well as becoming a well-rounded musician.

Sean is an all-round musician who passed his Grade 8 drum kit exam before leaving school and has since been awarded a performance diploma with Rockschool (DipRSL).

He has been a drum tutor for more than three years, and also teaches guitar and bass.

Sean is the lead guitarist and chief songwriter with Swindon-based punk band The Cold Harbour, who played successful tours of Poland and Germany in 2010, Belgium and Germany in 2011 and Germany, Sweden, Belgium and Austria in 2012.  The band have recently passed 11,300 'likes' on their Facebook page.

Born and bred in Swindon and a former pupil of Kingsdown School, Sean says music continues to be his main interest, and as well as teaching and playing across the whole range of styles from jazz to rock, salsa to reggae and more, he is a keen listener.

His tastes range from jazz drumming by greats such as Buddy Rich and Dave Weckl to music by The Beatles, The Beach Boys and modern bands such as Muse

Antonio is fully CRB checked teacher that teaches students of all ages up to a diploma level in and around Swindon. I am able to cover most genres (Pop, Rock, Metal, Acoustic, Classical, Flamenco). I am more than happy to work with or without the grade syllabus Rockschool or Trinity, providing tailor made courses of lessons to suit each individual pupils needs.

I have been playing guitar since the age of 13 and I have been playing in bands since I was 14. I have been touring in Europe with my most recent band, and I believe I have gained a lot of experience in guitar playing and especially stage performance from this. I have been studying music since secondary school when I started having private lessons. I went on to finish a GCSE in music with grade B, and a composition of mine which I did for coursework was used for the Greendown Community School website. I then went on to study with The Academy of Music and Sound, and gained my BTEC Level 3, which is the equivalent of 3 A levels. And now currently still with the Academy studying my Degree which is in partnership with The University of Wolverhampton. Outside of my studies and teaching I Frequently perform with my band and write music. Please feel free to get in touch anytime with any questions or enquiries that you may have or to book a lesson.

I am a native Spanish speaker, so any Spanish speakers which would prefer a Spanish speaking tutor is welcome.

James Lawrence

Having been playing music in some description for most of my life it all started by playing the clarinet at the age of 8 and this continued throughout my school years. During this time I took part in many school concerts and gained invaluable experience in playing with other musicians.

It was when I left school at the age of 16 I started playing drums and instantly fell in love with the instrument. After 12 years playing I have had the opportunity to play with a multitude of musicians and been fortunate to play some amazing gigs. I have currently played at over 500 functions with my band, including many weddings and corporate events both in this country and internationally.

Over the past 5 years I have had the pleasure of teaching many gifted pupils. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing that moment when a rhythm or song suddenly "clicks" and the student understands it! Teaching has been one of the most rewarding jobs I've had and love every minute of it!

Hannah Butler

Hannah Butler is a Professional Drummer and Tutor based in Swindon and has recently received an endorsement by Bosphorus Cymbals.

Hannah has been playing since she was 13 and has played in over 15 bands in that time. She was first inspired by seeing Craig Blundell perform at a masterclass organised by Andy Wraight. It was his passion and excitement for the drums, which inspired her to follow her dreams. After college Hannah studied at Brighton Institute of Modern Music and graduated with a degree in Professional Musicianship specialising in Drums. During her time at BIMM she had the opportunity to be taught by the very best educators and musicians who are at the height of their careers. These included Pat Garvey who is a regular contributor to the Tech Sessions at idrummag, Preston Prince owner of Tiki Drums and Michael Bowes who has played for artists such as Tears for Fears and Joss Stone etc. It was here she gained knowledge developing her technique and style as a musician, playing with other experienced musicians and learnt the key skills of music teaching and soloing.

Since graduating, Hannah has been teaching privately as a tutor at Andy Wraight’s Teaching Studios, gaining experience playing private functions and playing with a range of different artists including numerous tours and session work at Abbey Road Studios. Hannah is currently looking to expand her teaching, work with other artists and continue developing as a drummer and musician.

Nat Alexander

Nat has been playing drums for ten years and had her first drum lessons at Andy Wraight Teaching Studios.

Nat attended The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London where she gained a Diploma in Popular Music Performance. Here she studied under drummers such as Justin Scott (drummed with Amit Chattergee) who is a monthly contributor to Rhythm Magazine and music education scholar Gareth Dylan Smith. She then attended the Bristol Institute of Modern Music where she gained her degree in Professional Musicianship specialising in drums. During her time at BIMM she was taught by drummers such as former Malakai drummer James Hester, jazz drummer Mark Whitlam (Moonlight Saving Time) and Jason Bowld of Killing Joke.

Since completing her degree at BIMM, Nat has been working on developing her career as a professional drummer and teacher and has recently auditioned for Louis of One Direction.
